3rd Grade mosaic flower pots
How cute is this one! Audrey is creating an aquarium. Note the sandy bottom, green seaweed, and little blue fish.
A heart for mother's day
Spring is in the air! 3rd grade is currently working on making mosaic flower pots. We learned about how people during the Byzantine era created mosaics out of tiny glass or stone "tesserae". This decorative art was found in homes, churches, and public spaces. Many artists loved to make their pictures shimmer by making tesserae out of actual gold and glass. Next week third graders will begin to grout and seal finished pieces. More pictures coming soon!
Welcome to my work in progress!
The school year is winding down, but I hope to add some pictures of artwork from earlier in the year sometime soon! Check back in a few days for updates!
